FPS UK Limited & Sormac were pleased to be chosen to supply the leaf salad processing lines for the new factory built by Len Wright Salads.
Len Wright started growing various different vegetables on less than one hectare of land In the 1960s, But today, Len Wright Salads (LWS) is growing lettuce, tomatoes and sweet peppers on an area of over one thousand hectares, some of which is grown under cover. A major British chain of supermarkets recently commissioned the company to provide all the lettuce varieties that it sells in its stores. This led LWS to install two new 2,000 kg per hour lettuce processing lines. To make sure the project would run well, the company conducted an intensive market study of equipment suppliers throughout Europe, and we very pleased when they chose FPS UK Ltd & Sormac to supply the complete salad lines.
LWS’s decision to go with us was not taken overnight “The fact that we have a lot of experience in the processing of leaf salads and offer a wide range of washing and drying systems for (delicate) leaf salads most definitely contributed to this choice. The excellent build quality and the good cleanability of our machines were also important aspects.” What was important for LWS was that we could deliver the two lettuce lines complete. We supplied all the components, assembled them, and also provided the control system for the entire line.
The two processing lines at LWS are now up and running and they are working to the full satisfaction of both LWS and the supermarket chain for which the lettuce products are produced.
